i58 Housing Initiative

God sent ember church to East Chester to listen, learn, serve and partner with people who are ready to see a transformation. Our first step is to help restore affordable home ownership. We are partnering with the city and county government, York Technical College and the people of East Chester to build homes. This first house is being built on campus at York Technical College beginning in the fall of 2016 and will be moved onsite in East Chester upon completion in 2017. You are looking at a 900 sq. ft., two bedroom, two bath, durable, energy efficient home. While the home is being built, we will be qualifying and training a first time home owner to steward the blessing of their first home.
This housing initiative is part of a long-term strategic investment by ember and local partners in East Chester to empower the neighborhood through affordable home ownership, home remodeling, skill building, and job creation. Isaiah 58 is an outline for seeing God’s light break out like the dawn to guide us, strengthen bones, rebuild ancient ruins, raise up age-old foundations, repair breaches and restore streets in which we dwell.
